How to fix problems with Uber

Start with the outage graph above. Ride apps fail in a way that costs money: a ride that seems not to have been booked can have been booked twice.

  • Check your ride history before booking again
  • Look at whether the map, the booking, or the payment failed
  • Try Uber on mobile data instead of Wi-Fi, or the other way round
  • Sign out of Uber and sign back in
  • Make sure the Uber app and your browser are up to date
  • Restart your device - it clears more temporary faults than it has any right to

Frequently asked questions about Uber

I booked twice by accident.

Cancel the duplicate from your ride history as soon as you can see it. Cancellation fees during a known outage are usually refunded on request.

No drivers are showing.

That can be genuine demand rather than an outage. The outage graph tells the two apart.

How do I know if Uber is down for everyone?

Look at the outage graph above. A sudden spike in reports means the problem is on the Uber side and there is nothing to fix at your end. A flat graph points at something local - your connection, your device, or your account.

Uber is down. What can I actually do?

When the reports are widespread, waiting is the honest answer - the app is being restored by people who already know about it. Before you settle in, it is worth checking your internet connection and reloading Uber once, because that rules out the handful of causes that look identical from your side.

Why is Uber working for other people but not for me?

Outages are often partial. They can hit one region, one platform, or one group of accounts while everything else carries on. Your own connection, an old app version or a cached login can also produce a problem only you can see.
