How to fix problems with MUBI

Start with the outage graph above. A stream that will not start and a stream that keeps buffering are different faults with different causes.

  • Try a different title to see whether it is everything or one item
  • Lower the video quality in settings
  • Try MUBI on mobile data instead of Wi-Fi, or the other way round
  • Try another device - smart TV apps fail more often than phones
  • Sign out of MUBI and sign back in
  • Restart your device - it clears more temporary faults than it has any right to

Frequently asked questions about MUBI

Buffering on everything. Is MUBI down?

Constant buffering across all titles is usually your connection or the delivery network. A genuine outage tends to stop playback from starting at all.

It works on my phone but not the TV.

The TV app is a separate piece of software and often the last to be fixed. That is a partial outage, not a fault on your side.

How do I know if MUBI is down for everyone?

Look at the outage graph above. A sudden spike in reports means the problem is on the MUBI side and there is nothing to fix at your end. A flat graph points at something local - your connection, your device, or your account.

MUBI is down. What can I actually do?

When the reports are widespread, waiting is the honest answer - the service is being restored by people who already know about it. Before you settle in, it is worth checking your internet connection and reloading MUBI once, because that rules out the handful of causes that look identical from your side.

Why is MUBI working for other people but not for me?

Outages are often partial. They can hit one region, one platform, or one group of accounts while everything else carries on. Your own connection, an old app version or a cached login can also produce a problem only you can see.
