In the chart above, you can see the reported Reddit service outages for today and yesterday. If you’re also experiencing problems, use the buttons above the graph to let other users know that the outage is very likely on Reddit’s end directly, and therefore the problem is not on their device.

If it’s a problem with a specific feature, post in the comments below the article. Someone else may have encountered a similar problem and can advise on how to possibly resolve it.

Reporting a service that isn’t working will also help other users who won’t then try to fix the problem on their phone, tablet or computer, as the fault will obviously be elsewhere and will need to wait for a solution.

Quickly check Reddit availability

Here you can check the availability of“https://www.reddit.com/”, the home page of the web version of Reddit.

During the check, we’ll connect to the website and see if it’s working. If everything is successful (i.e. the page loads fine without errors), the check is successful.

On the other hand, if the page doesn’t load or the connection takes too long, which in practice is a situation where the site doesn’t load even for the user, the check fails. It is also always possible that the service will start blocking similar checks, which will then result in a failed check even though the site is working properly.

During the check, only whether the website is working is addressed, i.e. not applications or other services.

If something is not working or the service is unusable for another reason, you can report it at the top of this page, or describe the problem in the comments, and someone who has encountered and resolved it can let you know how to proceed.

You can also try the tutorials and solutions described below, which are more general but will solve most Reddit problems.

The mobile app that is not working may need to be reinstalled. Here are the download links for Android and iOS:

Reddit on Twitter

Reddit has a dedicated Twitter account to let people know about any issues and outages. So if the service is experiencing problems, this is one of the best ways to find out about them:

How to fix common problems with Reddit

Check out other users’ reports

First, see ifothers are experiencing outages. At the top of this page (which you can also quickly get to by clicking here), you’ll find a graph of reported outages from other users. You can then report yourself if you are experiencing an outage or problem. You will then find comments below where you can describe the problem in more detail.

If you see more outages, it is likely that others are experiencing problems as well, and you may need to wait. Conversely, if you don’t see any reports, it’s more likely to be a problem on your device that can be resolved.

Try another device or browser

If Reddit doesn’t work in your web browser, try the mobile app or another browser. If you have the option, try another computer.

If the service isn’t working anywhere, it’s most likely a problem on Reddit’s end. If it only works on one device, it’s probably a problem on that device that can be fixed.

Turn Reddit off and on

Close your browser windows, wait at least 30 seconds, then reopen the browser and try connecting to Reddit. If you’re using an app, try the same thing, but be sure to actually close the app before reopening it.

Closing an Android app completely or quitting an iPhone app is different from just switching to another app. If the web browser or apps don’t close completely, restart your device and try again.

Clear browser cache and cookies

Web browsers cache information from the Internet, which can make web pages load faster. If you have outdated or corrupted data in your cache, you may continue to see error messages or see errors even after you refresh your site. Open your browser settings, locate your cache, and select clear cached images and files for Reddit.

Also clear your browser cookies. Outdated cookies can also prevent Reddit from loading or functioning properly. If clearing your cache didn’t help, open your web browser settings again, search for cookies, and clear all Reddit-related cookies.

Run an antivirus program

Check your computer for malware. Some types of malware affect your ability to view certain websites. If you’re running Windows, check Windows Defender and consider running another malware removal tool to be safe.

Restart your PC or phone

Restart your computer or phone. Restarting your device will often resolve various issues, and it’s typically an easy and quick way to fix not only Reddit, but other broken services as well.

Restart your modem/router

The outage may be related to a problem with your modem or router that is preventing you from accessing Reddit. If this happens, you can unplug the modem and router, wait at least 30 seconds, and then reconnect the modem.

Make sure you have a solid internet connection

Reddit’s outage may not be on the service itself, but on your ISP. So check that you have a strong connection and that you can connect to other services just fine.

If not, visit today’s internet outage page, for example, because the problem is probably a bad connection and not Reddit.

If your internet isn’t working, try another connection method, such as mobile data.

Turn off browser extensions and add-ons

If the problem with Reddit seems to be limited to a particular web browser, chances are you’re using a browser extension or plugin that conflicts with Reddit. It could be almost anything, but the first thing to try is disabling ad blockers like AdBlock.

The good news is that you can easily disable the extension and see if that solves the problem. Disable all extensions and see if that solves the problem. If it did, you can try turning them back on, one by one, until you find the problematic extension that’s making Reddit not work.
