Facebook Is Down? Current Problems, Outages and Solutions
Facebook down or not working? See other users’ reports
In the chart above, you can see the errors reported by other Facebook users. If something is not working on the service or you can’t even start the site, please let us know by clicking the button above the graph.
Sometimes it’s a bug on our device, other times it’s really the service that’s not working. If you report a broken website or service to us, other users are more likely to know that it is indeed a technical fault and therefore not a problem with their device.
If you have a specific problem with Facebook not working, you can also let us know in the comments below. Someone may have encountered a similar thing, and will know the solution.

Quick check for Facebook.com availability
Youcan check the availability of “https://www.facebook.com” here. If the site is available, the button will turn green, otherwise it will be red.
However, we only check if the site is available and we manage to connect to it within a few seconds. This does not mean that something is not working on the site anyway.
This can be related to individual functionalities, such as sending and receiving messages via Messenger or wall posts not loading properly, not being able to log in or other functions not working.
However, even in the case of such errors, the website would still work, so the check would be successful.
So if you are experiencing a bug but Facebook.com is otherwise working, please report it using the button at the top of the page, and then describe it in the comments.
This will certainly help others who are experiencing this error, where it will be clear that the problem is not yours, but is some sort of outage that Facebook needs to resolve on its end.
How to fix possible problems with Facebook.com
Let’s take a look at the possible reasons why Facebook may not be working as expected, as well as what to do about any outages.
Typos in the Facebook.com address or a bad domain ending
Especially if you don’t have the website address saved in your browser bookmarks, it’s possible that you have a typo in the address.
This is a fairly common mistake where even a single misspelled character can make a site look inaccessible, but it’s simply because you’re visiting a non-existent site.
So check to make sure that you are actually typing the address correctly.
For Facebook, it should also be noted that the only correct address is facebook.com, and no other.
Unlike, for example, Google, which operates in different countries under different domains (so not just google.com, but google.cz, .sk, .it, .fr and many, many more), Facebook has a single address where all content is automatically translated into the language you choose.
So also check if you happen to connect to, for example, Facebook.co.uk, which is not the correct Facebook address.
Check the programs on your device and browser extensions
Various programs such as antiviruses, firewalls, and all kinds of devices often have the ability to block access to various websites, even though this may be a bug.
Sometimes they do this to protect us from fraudulent sites or sites that are infected. But sometimes a mistake is made or a site that is safe gets blacklisted.
This often happens with free streaming content sites, but it’s never impossible that Facebook is blocked for some reason.
So we recommend turning off programs like VPNs, ad blockers and the like before taking more drastic action. If Facebook still doesn’t work, you can turn them back on and the fault will lie elsewhere.
Facebook has simply crashed and you need to wait for it to recover
In principle, the most likely possibility for why Facebook or its various parts like Messenger, or even apps like Instagram or WhatsApp that fall under one company, Meta, are not working is a technical error on the part of the operator.
So, for example, if you see from the graph above in the article that other users are also reporting errors in bulk, the most likely fault is not with your device, but with the failure of the entire service or some component.
Unfortunately, the solution is that you have to wait for it to come back up, which typically takes hours, sometimes even a whole day. It always depends on how serious the problem is.

Here you can see the latest Twitter posts of Meta, the company under which Facebook, Messenger, but also Instagram or WhatsApp fall. If Meta is experiencing a more well-known outage, you will very likely see this information on Twitter.
